Don't be alarmed if you drive by and see what looks like a narcoleptic man or woman face down on a statue, sign or even a car. They're not asleep, they're planking. This act of extreme lying down is sweeping its way across the globe and is now in Kentucky. Allow us to explain what planking is and why Fusioncorp just loves this strange yet addictive activity.
If you look up Planking on Wikipedia you'll find the definition as "The Lying Down" game (also known as planking, or face downs). It's an activity, popular in various parts of the world, consisting of lying face down in an unusual or incongruous location. The hands must touch the sides of the body, and having a photograph of the participant taken and posted on the Internet is an integral part of the game. Players compete to find the most unusual and original location in which to play. The location should also be as public as possible and as many people as possible should be involved.
Why is it that Fusioncorp loves planking? Well, for an Interactive Marketing Firm, planking is simply rich with opportunity to get noticed and make a lasting impression on people. Just like viral videos, planking gives a company or brand an oddness that instantly appeals to an audience. If you know Fusioncorp then you know we like to be different and make impressions. Now we really don't recommend that every Fusioncorp client start Planking on their desks, at the bank, or car dealership, but we do feel this little activity has potential to bring business and is worth further exploration. Once you have gotten their full, undivided attention stand up and present them with a business card. 9 out of 10 will be sure to go to your website.
3. Social Planking - Create a Flickr account dedicated to your planking activities and then stream them to your Facebook account.
